About Hope Christian Academy

Learning in the light of the Creator

we believe that Jesus Christ is preeminent in every aspect of life

No knowledge is complete if the Creator is denied or ignored. A Biblical viewpoint enriches every subject, and forms the character of our students. The education we give our students is based on the foundation of God’s unchanging Word, equipping them for a Christian life of service and leadership. This is the foundational principle of our academics, our activities, and all of school life.

Our Core Commitments:

Committed to God’s Word

We believe that an education is only complete when it begins and ends with the knowledge of God. And we believe the gospel—the good news about what Jesus Christ has done to reconcile sinners to God—should shape every aspect of learning, and our lives.

Committed to Partnership with Parents

We see ourselves as partners with parents. Parents teach their kids at home with great care, about everything from academic subjects to character. And at HCA, we continue to nurture the good work parents are doing at home.

Committed to Classical Academics

We want our students to see learning as a form of worship they love all their lives. And we want them to be able to engage with the many perspectives they will encounter in the world, but still remain firmly rooted in what they stand for.

Committed to Community

At HCA, students are surrounded by a community that cares about them as people, including their teachers, fellow students, and school parents. They get the individual attention they need—and know that they have a part to play as a student, mentor, and friend, both in the classroom and out of it.

A History of Hope

Hope Christian Academy was founded in 1981, based on a conviction that children of Christian parents should have the option to attend a school that honors Biblical truth.

We opened in a private home in January of that year, as the Happy Day Kindergarten, and added Grades One, Two, and Three that same year. By 1983, we expanded into newly-completed rooms at Evangelical Bible Church, and added Grades Four, Five and Six. In 1994, we began to welcome junior high students, and in 2012 we commenced high school classes in Grades 9-12, with our first class graduating in 2016. An afternoon daycare for children three to five also opened in fall 2017.
