Ages 13-18 (by August 1st of the school year)
Upper School students are ready to engage more deeply with big questions, to apply their education and experience to understand their world, and to persuasively communicate the truths of God’s Word.
Our Approach
Hope Christian Academy’s classical Christian education culminates in our Upper School, where students wrestle with some of the world’s most challenging and influential works of literature, engage with important philosophies and worldviews, and gain experience not just in speaking and writing, but listening. The philosophy that guides our curriculum aims not just to create knowledgeable students, but thoughtful and loving adults.
Our Curriculum
In an environment that both champions and challenges them, students build their communication skills in a clear progression, with classes in rhetoric and opportunities to speak publicly, leading up to capstone classes in Biblical Interpretation, Apologetics, and Biblical Worldview. Their HCA education is completed with a senior thesis, which each student writes, presents, and defends to a live audience of faculty, fellow scholars, and parents.
