Parents lay the foundation for each child’s education, teaching them the most important lessons in life. We see our work at HCA as a partnership with parents as they seek to teach their children the ways of the Lord. We understand that as a school, we do not have a higher authority than parents do in the lives of their children. Instead, we serve with their delegated authority, in loco parentis.
Our Approach: Instruction in Righteousness
The Greek work paideia means “instruction,” “nurture,” or “training.” It’s used in 2 Timothy 3:16, when Paul writes to his student Timothy about “instruction”—or paideia—“in righteousness.” In partnership with parents, the paideia of the Lord is what we want to cultivate in our students.
